The REAR Award focuses on architecture that has been exposed to the elements over the years, has been used and has developed visible signs of ageing, transformation and patina - buildings that have been characterised by time, use and climate and yet retain their quality, charisma and cultural relevance. To this end, we have realised one of our pioneering projects, the Ecological settlement Geroldsäcker which has now been in existence for over 30 years, lives and changes and develops with its residents over the years.
