VIA emerged from a future workshop organised by the Rastatt adult education centre at the end of 1999. VIA - Vital im Alter - has since become an intergenerational project that has a property in Baden-Baden under option. The aim is to create a mix of several generations of families, singles, couples and single parents. The residential courtyard is located around three metres higher than the street due to the steep slope of the site. It is accessed via a large flight of steps, a lift or from the street to the west. The courtyard is closed on three sides by buildings and opens up towards the valley as a large open terrace with a beautiful view. This edge is framed by a pergola, where the communal room is also located, so that there is room for meetings and celebrations. The courtyard is practically the "marketplace". From here, you can take the lift or stairs to the upper floors, where the flats are accessed via arcades.
